Introduction into my Internship

Hey There! My name is Brianna & I am in my final semester at ASU in the Tourism Development Management Program. This semester I will be Interning at CRS Temporary Housing. I have working here since August 2008, assisting the Marketing Communications team and will continue to do so, with added responsibilities.

My daily job duties include; completing literature requests, assisting with customer service needs, creating & assembling presentation packets, planning & booking travel arrangements for the sales team (including airline tickets, rental cars, & hotel accommodations), sales support on an as-needed basis, regulating the returned mail contests, preparing packages for adjusters, as well as set up for conferences and trade shows. While assisting the sales team I will be communicating with various adjusters and clients via email and snail mail, which will serve as a wonderful learning experience for customer service as well as the proper communication skills necessary to remain professional. I will do so mainly by hand-writing thank you notes to new adjusters & creating "Miss You" cards for our past adjusters. Along with my day-to-day tasks, I will also help the Marketing team plan events such as the annual holiday party, various trade shows, conferences, and golf tournaments.

I hope once my internship is completed I will find my home in a full-time position with CRS. The company does so much for it's employees & make each individual feel like a member of the "CRS Family", including; free personal trainers, car wash days, raffles for carpooling, quarterly contests, free lunches on special occasions, free healthy snacks stocked in the break room, & a friendly and stress-free work environment, by promoting teamwork.

Overall, I am looking forward to my internship with CRS & am looking forward to my growing knowledge and experience.

  1. I have heard of CRS but I have no idea what they actually do. Can you tell me a little about the company and what exactly they do? No matter what they do it sounds like they treat their employees very well and have given you a lot of responsibilities!

  2. Wow Brianna! It seems as if you have your plate full! It will keep you busy.

I love the perks you get with CRS. The free personal trainers, car wash days, raffles for carpooling, quarterly contests, free lunches on special occasions, free healthy snacks stocked in the break room, & a friendly and stress-free work environment. I believe that companies need to have something similar to this to make a successful company. It makes one feel that work is more than just showing up and doing a task.

  3. Amarone I totally agree with you! This is most positive work environment I have ever worked in and it's great! I am totally spoiled! My manager will even send me positive little emails once I've completed a task saying things like "Great job Brianna." or "Perfect. Thank you so much for your teamwork." Things like that are so encouraging and make coming to work everyday so easy! :)

Shelley, Thanks for that great Blog idea! I will focus my next blog on CRS the comapny. Ill give a little back story and overview of what our cmopany does!
